Central Indiana Women of Worth Retreat

The King’s Daughter
Central Indiana Women of Worth Retreat

On March 18, 2016, one-hundred fifty ladies gathered in Greenfield, Indiana for the 2016 Central Indiana Women Of Worth Retreat. The venue at ICHA Campground was decorated as a royal palace.  A silver tiara and  princess wand was at each place setting, accompanied by a fresh red rose in a purple bud vase. Eight white pillars were uniquely decorated with lighted tulle swags connecting, them. A deep red velvet backdrop enhanced the decorations and set the stage for the retreat theme, "THE KING’S DAUGHTER."  The atmosphere was royal, indeed!

The Gospel Heartstrings

The retreat was launched with a Royal Banquet of roast beef with all the trimmings, after which The Gospel Heartstrings presented a lively bluegrass sacred concert. To make the evening even more special, we were highly honored by a unique guest. All who had registered were daughters of the King by adoption, but our guest, Stella (Yemi) Babatunde, was indeed a genuine King’s daughter, a princess by birth; her father was the King of a provincial region in Nigeria. She grew up in her father’s court with many servants and maids, and it was a joy for us to hear her remarkable story of the coming of missionaries into her village and her conversion. It was an great honor to have Princess Stella; her presence seemed to enhance the royal  atmosphere.

Dressed  as a PRINCESS, our featured speaker, Lorena Glick, was used  by God in a very special  way. She inspired and challenged us to stay “in the castle” and be the princess God intended each of us to be. During a special prayer time, God’s presence filled the “palace.” Every heart was touched; no one left as she came.  A variety of needs were met as we lingered in God’s presence. Our faith was renewed, and we left, inspired to claim the privileges and blessings of being the King’s daughter! Many are still talking about that Royal week-end!                                       reported by Barb Brock
