Streusel Coffee Cake
Filling:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Mix together with fork and set aside.
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening and
blend in well beaten egg mixed with milk. Spread 1/2 mixture in greased and floured 6 x 10 inch pan.
Sprinkle with half of the streusel filling mixture. Add remainder of batter and sprinkle the rest of streusel
mixture over top. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
